In this supersized Season 3 Finale, the students of the MCHS History Club brought a new idea for an episode. A recounting of events from a year in Marshall County History! For this finale, we run through some of the happenings in Marshall County throughout the year 1975, with members of the MCHS Class of 1975 contributing interviews and memories. Everything from cruising the roads from the Square back to the Rec Center, Hamburgers from Dairy Queen, Movies at the Drive-In... and even a few instances of crime and intrigue. The students used back-issue editions of the Lewisburg Tribune for their research, found using the Marshall County library online archives. Written, Researched, and hosted by the MCHS History Club (Kayla Allen, Danna Hunter, Connor Fleming, Caroline McNutt, Johntavia Cross, Kinsey Bass, Darien Driffis-Luna, Azjana Cross, Yareli Rosales, Anthony Smith, and Maggie Steely. Chapter 14: In Memory of Bob Edens

The late Bob Edens left a legacy in Marshall County. The TSSAA Hall of Famer coached the MCHS Tiger Football team to a state title in 1984. After his retirement from coaching, Coach Edens would spend many more years serving the community as Principal at Cornersville School before retiring from education in 2013. The History Club celebrates his life and legacy, with excerpts from a previous interview we did with him, as well as contributions from those who played for him, taught with him, and even followed in his legacy after him. What if the walls really could talk??? The History Club took a visit to the home of Mrs. Emily Gordon of Lewisburg, TN. Mrs. Gordon's home, the Vintage Largoe, turned 100 years old in 2024. Mrs. Gordon researched and recorded the history of her home across the three families who have owned it in that span. In this episode, Emily Gordon takes the History Club on a journey through the history of her home, and the stories witnessed by the walls within it.

On March 16, 2020, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee advised the closure of Tennessee Public Schools suring the Global Covid Pandemic. What was supposed to be a three week reset turned into the cancelation of the remainder of the school year. By August of 2020, the school systems were attempting to move forward with a hybrid learning structure of virtual classes mixed with in-person classes. The Class of 2025, about to embark on their own graduation, are the first graduating class in four years to have had a high school experience that was absent the Covid Shutdown. The Class of 2025 reflects on their lost Middle School years, and the impact of this as they moved forward through high school. Interviews include MCHS and History Club alumni Abbie Perryman and Ellah Wilson, as well as several members of the MCHS Class of 2025.

Chapter 11: Patriot Frederick Fisher

Frederick Fisher was a Private in the Virginia militia and participant in the Battle of King's Mountain. He fought for the nation's independence, and he eventually found his way to what would become Marshall County. His service and dedication would be remembered in late 2024 during a grave marking ceremony by chapters of the SAR. The MCHS History Club was invited to attend this grave marking. Join us in this episode of the Book of Marshall as Jainil Patel, Cayson Evors, Kinsey Bass, Darien Griffis-Luna tell the story of Frederick Fisher's life and service. Clark Rose, the Graves Committee Chair for the Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter of the SAR, joined us to detail how the SAR puts together a grave marking ceremony. Finally, History Club members Johntavia Cross, Caroline McNutt, Abigail Haley, and Cathryne Burrahm discuss their experience and takeaways from attending the ceremony, including why it's important to keep these local history moments alive.
